The Creative Centre for Community Mobilisation (CRECCOM) has donated a laptop to the Mulanje District Education Office to enhance operational efficiency and support the implementation of the Building Education Foundations through Innovation and Technology (BEFIT) Programme.
The donation was made in response to a request from the district education office, which highlighted the need for a dedicated laptop to support daily administrative functions and the management of programme-related information, particularly for the BEFIT initiative, which was previously supported by CRECCOM during its implementation phase and has since been successfully institutionalised and handed over to full Government implementation in the district.”
Presenting the laptop on behalf of CRECCOM management, Personal Assistant to the Executive Director, Margaret Kapesa, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting key government institutions in delivering quality education services. She noted that the donation reflects CRECCOM’s responsiveness to stakeholder needs and its continued partnership with the education sector.

“This laptop has been provided to support your day-to-day operations and, more importantly, to enhance the storage and utilization of information related to the BEFIT programme. As CRECCOM, we remain committed to working closely with the district to ensure effective implementation of education interventions,” she said.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Director of Education and Sports, Principal Education Officer Hartley Kaluwa expressed gratitude to CRECCOM for the timely support. He described the donation as both thoughtful and impactful, noting that it will significantly contribute to improving the efficiency of office operations.
“We are sincerely grateful to CRECCOM for this kind gesture. The donation has come at the right time and will go a long way in assisting the office to effectively discharge its duties. We assure you that the laptop will be well taken care of and utilized for its intended purpose for a long time,” he said.

The BEFIT Programme, which is being implemented nationwide, aims to improve foundational literacy and numeracy skills among primary school learners through the use of innovative, tablet-based learning approaches. CRECCOM is supporting the Ministry of Education through the Directorate of Basic Education in strengthening programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and communication.
This donation underscores CRECCOM’s broader commitment to strengthening institutional capacity at district level, ensuring that education stakeholders are well-equipped to deliver impactful and sustainable learning outcomes.
