CRECCOM joins dialogue on technology in education

CRECCOM participated in the EdTech 2025 Indaba held at the University of Malawi (UNIMA), which brought together education experts and stakeholders to explore the role of technology in advancing quality and inclusive learning in Malawi.


Held under the theme "Leveraging Mobile Technology for Quality and Inclusive Learning in Malawi", the conference emphasized the importance of equipping teachers and learners with digital tools to transform education delivery, especially in hard-to-reach areas.


Our Executive Director, Alinafe Ireen Chibwana, attended the event and reaffirmed CRECCOM’s commitment to supporting digital transformation in education.

As an implementing support partner of the Malawi Government’s Building Education Foundations through Innovation and Technology (BEFIT) program, CRECCOM is playing a key role in promoting the use of mobile technology to improve foundational literacy and numeracy in public primary schools.


Dr. Zizwa Msukuma, Director of Education and Technology in the Ministry of Education, highlighted that “technological integration is key to successfully revamping education systems in the country.”

UNIMA Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sunduzwayo Madise, echoed this by stating, “The university is geared towards adopting technological innovations to achieve quality education, primarily by ensuring meaningful connectivity for disadvantaged learners from remote areas.”

CRECCOM is honored to contribute to the advancement of a more inclusive and technology-driven educational future for everyone. It is supporting the implementation of the BEFIT program in Zomba urban, Blantyre rural, Blantyre urban, Phalombe, Chiradzulu, Thyolo, and Mulanje districts across 159 public primary schools.
