The Creative Centre for Community Mobilisation (CRECCOM), as a key implementing partner in the Green Jobs for Adolescents and Youth Project, has celebrated the graduation of 100 youths equipped with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.

The graduates successfully completed hands-on training in ecotourism, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy—key sectors aimed at promoting green economic opportunities among young people.

Through CRECCOM’s community mobilisation approach, the project has not only focused on skills development but also ensured that youths are empowered to apply their knowledge within their local contexts.

One of the graduates, Isaac, shared how the project has transformed his life: “This project has given us the skills we need. I was linked to an internship, and now I’m fully employed.”

Beyond technical training, the initiative has integrated business incubation support, preparing youths to transition into entrepreneurship.

It has also addressed critical cross-cutting issues, including sexual and reproductive health, child protection, and environmental conservation—ensuring holistic development for participating youths.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, Project Manager Joseph Mpimphira expressed confidence in the graduates’ potential to drive change in their communities.

He noted that the young people are now equipped not only with skills but also with the mindset and capacity to contribute meaningfully to local development.

As part of the next phase, the project will provide seed capital to support the graduates in establishing and scaling their enterprises, further strengthening economic resilience at community level.

The Green Jobs for Adolescents and Youth Project is funded by Save the Children Italy through Save the Children Malawi and implemented in partnership with CRECCOM, ADRA Malawi, Mzuzu University, Emerge Livelihoods, and TEVETA.

Through its involvement, CRECCOM continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring that community-driven approaches remain at the center of youth empowerment and sustainable development.
