SOCIAL MOBILIZATION CAMPAIGN FOR AIDS AWARENESS PROJECT

was aimed at creating awareness and action at community level to address the increasing HIV/AIDS epidemic in 29 schools and 270 villages in TA Ndindi in Salima District.

It was designed to work with schools and communities to recognize the impact and causes of HIV/AIDS and to develop strategies to mitigate HIV/AIDS proliferation. SMC-AA brought together into action government officials from the Ministries of Education, Community Development, and Health, as well as school-based officials, community members, and students. and information to address HIV/AIDS impact; education for OVCs, income generation for PLWHA and OVCs, HIV prevention through abstinence and being faithful. From 2006 the Community Radio was managed by CRECCOM, then handed over to the community in 2015.
