PROMOTION OF GIRLS EDUCATION (PROGE)

Its targeting over 400 public primary schools in 13 low education performing districts.

The Overall objective is to strengthen civic society’s involvement and participation towards building sustainable institutions that promote girls’ education thereby achieve gender equality.

This is being done by increasing knowledge amongst both girls and boys; women and men; about the children’s right to education and building the capacity of the government, school management committees, parents and other local institutions to uphold and protect the rights or these girls and boys through sensitization, empowerment and advocacy.

Utilizing a multi-strand strategy; Girl empowerment interventions, community led dialogues, advocacy campaign, PROGE has reached over 300,000 girls, 4000 mother groups.
