In the process of associating herself in the club’s activities, she got a chance of being one of the 25 members who were selected to get trained in the production of sanitary pads using local materials through hand sewing. After a successful 3-day training, Enelesi made sure that the skills she got from this training could not only be used in sanitary pads but also other means she could use to earn some money. Through this she got herself into business of making skirts through hand sewing a thing that has changed her life for the past 6 months. Currently Enelesi is able to make money through the skills she got from Pad making training.

‘I am able to purchase a piece of chitenje at MK2500. From this, I do produce two skirts that I sell at MK 2000 each. To me, this is a great achievement because I am able to support my husband to take care of our family and this has made us to move forward financially as a family. Enelesi narrated.

Enelesi is able to make 6 to 8 skirts in a week. A skirt for an elder person is sold at 2000 and for girls at 1000 to 1500. In her future plans she is planning to buy a sewing machine and open a tailoring shop.
