Students improve English proficiency

Students at Nangengwere Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Traditional Authority Khwethemule in Thyolo now speak English fluently courtesy of reading books Creative Centre for Community Mobilisation (CRECCOM) donated.

The books include novels, English literature books, History books, and Science books.

The school used to face shortage of learning and teaching materials. Consequently, students had poor command of the Queen’s Language.

But all that changed when CRECCOM donated text books to the school.

One of the teachers, Dingase Kasenda, said students now are able to speak better English.

“English fluency has improved among students,” she said.

CRECCOM, with support from Better World Trust, made the donation to 36 CDSSs in Thyolo, Mulanje, Ntchisi and Chitipa districts.
