CRECCOM in partnership with Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) is implementing a project titled “Amplifying people’s voices in local government structures in demand of service delivery and accountability”. The project is built on our previous OSISA funded project and is being implemented in Thyolo and Balaka Districts. The aim of this project is to have an increased amplification of people’s voices in local government structures in demand of service delivery and accountability. This will be done through increasing awareness around the democratic principle of inclusion and importance on incorporating citizen voice, improving functionality of district assemblies and other local governance structures in service delivery and accountability as well as improving inclusion of citizens’ voice in democratic principles at community and district levels. This project will work with Community Theatre Groups, Radio Listening Clubs, Women Groups, Area Development Committees as well as Village Development Committees in building their capacity and inspiring them as agents of change in their communities.
